The story so far …
Nero & Bianco launched in 2010 and was the brainchild of a number of crazy chocolatiers, who hadn’t noticed that we were in the worst recession since 1920. None the less, two years on, we are on the chocolate radar and have won the hearts of more than a few discerning chocolate lovers.
We love chocolate, we love the taste, we love the smell, we love the texture and we love the way it makes us feel! Why do so many of us have such a deep-rooted love for chocolate? Is it the comfort factor, the association with indulgence or just that it tastes sooo good?!
Because we associate chocolate with happiness and good feelings, we wanted to ensure that our business is not causing anyone to have unduly bad times. We knew from the start that creating a Fairtrade and organic chocolate was imperative to our vision and everything that we do in the future will be Fairtrade and organic too.
We buy cocoa from the Dominican Republic and Peru and will continue to look at other ways in which we can help communities in the developing world.
We travelled across the UK and mainland Europe in search of a great partner to manufacture our chocolate and appropriately we found ourselves in one of the most romantic locations in Northern Italy with the Bergamo Alps towering above this lovely place. These guys have been making chocolate since 1946, so know a thing or two.
Nero & Bianco is a niche brand that has already attracted mainstream interest. We welcome any feedback on our chocolate, via the website, Twitter or Facebook – join our club - tell us what you think.
